The Jordan River Foundation was established in 1995 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah as a non-governmental, non-profit organization with the aim of promoting child protection, empowering local communities by finding local solutions, and focusing on the opportunities and well-being of children. The Foundation works in local communities through a group of partnerships that encourage community participation, whether it involves individuals or civil society organizations. With more than two decades of social, economic, and cultural interventions, the Jordan River Foundation aims to enhance better life opportunities for thousands of individuals throughout the Kingdom.
The Foundation devotes its resources to awareness, education, empowerment, and capacity building, focusing on engaging all sectors of society, specifically women and youth. It has succeeded in building value-added partnerships with local government institutions and local and international organizations to implement social and economic development initiatives. It also strives to find solutions to create sustainable and strong communities.
