The Royal Film Commission – Jordan is an independent public institution with financial and administrative autonomy, established in 2003 with the aim of developing a globally competitive Jordanian film industry and strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional and international hub for audiovisual production. The Commission is governed by a Board of Commissioners chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein.

The Commission supports and empowers filmmakers through education and training, production services, and the organization of film screenings and cultural activities across the Kingdom’s governorates. It operates through a network of six film centers located across several Jordanian governorates, with the aim of expanding access to training and cultural opportunities and promoting participation in the audiovisual sector nationwide.

The Aqaba Film Center is one of the Commission’s affiliated centers, providing a creative space that supports young talent and the creative industries in Aqaba Governorate. The Center delivers specialized training and capacity-building programs covering the artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking, as well as organizing film screenings and cultural events. Through these initiatives, the Center contributes to developing participants’ skills, enhancing their professional readiness, and strengthening the presence of the creative and audiovisual sectors in Aqaba.
